Virtual Restaurant De-escalation Discussion
October 26, 2021

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Between the constant changing of COVID-19 restrictions and workforce shortages, tensions can rise between restaurant employees and guests. Restaurant workers are uniquely at risk when these confrontations surface, but not every restaurant worker, manager, or owner has the skill set to deescalate scenarios that could be dangerous.

This virtual discussion aims to equip the hospitality and restaurant industry employees with techniques to neutralize potentially problematic situations and promote a safe environment while maintaining the spirit of hospitality.  This training also provides specific actions employees can take to de-escalate difficult situations as well as solutions for handling conflict throughout all interactions.

Our speaker, Assemblyman Tom Roberts, is a former Las Vegas Metro law enforcement officer, will discuss his experience and will focus on sharing steps to successfully deescalate situations. Tom Roberts served in the United States Air Force for nine years as a law enforcement specialist. After his service, he joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department until retiring in 2018. During his law enforcement career, Roberts served as an assistant sheriff. In 2018, Roberts was elected to the Nevada Assembly representing the 13th district.

This discussion is open to all restaurant employees, from the kitchen to line staff, managers and even owners!

Thank you to our sponsor below.
